While I’m all for creative ways to balance the budget (and I’m also not opposed to regressive sin/luxury taxes when a good case can be made!), the argument the New Mexico Senate recently made to tax flour tortillas because they’re ‘less healthy’ than corn or wheat tortillas is…ridiculous. Tax my green chile breakfast burrito? No way, Jose!
